In conjunction with the feed efficiency effort that the White Lab spearheads, a significant offshoot of that project was recently funded by the Greener Cattle Initiative to measure methane emissions from dairy cows.
The White Lab will continue collaborating with the Weigel and Peñagaricano Labs to identify not only which cows are more or less feed efficient, but to also identify which cows produce more or less methane and then characterize why that is.
